Preparing for your photoshoot.

Hey hey!

Are you bit of a nervous wreck in-front of the camera? Don’t worry - I’m the same. Ironic I know, but that means I understand all too well how you might feel.

My photoshoot sessions are centred around the idea that we are taking a walk together. Sessions are kept fun, casual and with plenty of breaks in-between. Some moments might be candid, and some with gentle prompting to get you or your dog into position.

Nothing is forced and I believe in a “work with them, not against them” approach. Your dog (and you) don’t have to be anyone else but yourself.

Your mental and physical well-being is a huge priority to me during our time together, and I want you to enjoy yourself and walk into your photoshoot with confidence knowing that everything is catered to you and your needs.

On this page, you’ll be able to find tips and advice on how to better prepare for your photoshoot with me.

Pre-Photoshoot Preparation.

Days before your photoshoot,

  • Does your dog/cat require professional grooming before your photoshoot? And have you booked in? If your dog’s eyes are slightly covered by their fur, it’s best to have a trim.

Kiki’s Advice: “Mom says you need to book with your groomer in advance to avoid disappointment and it’s best scheduled a week before your session.”

  • Have you paid for your remaining session fee invoice?

  • Remember to check out my full artwork catalog in the client lounge as I will be shooting for product!

Having an idea of what you would like as a final piece, helps me capture the most important moment of the photoshoot for you.

Your photoshoot day,

  • A quick brush of your dog before heading to location will keep them looking fresh.

  • Remember your high value treats! ( suppppppper important )

  • A standard leash and collar will do just fine, they get edited out during my process.

  • Water for you and your dog.

  • Arrive 5 - 10 mins earlier to toilet and get some excitement out or settle in.

What to wear?

I always recommend comfortable clothes and shoes for your photoshoot due to the locations we will be in. I’ll be giving you gentle prompts that may include, running with your dog, sitting on the ground or playing with your dog. So please do be aware to avoid any issues with your outfit of choice on the day. However if you are planning to be in the photos with your dog, I suggesting wearing clothes that are a little more stylish or you personally love and feel good in yet embraces your identity and personality.

After all, you too are unique and we want to capture you, as you are. Just as we are capturing your dog, as they are.

Your outfit should also complement the location we will be in for the best results.

Kiki’s Advice: “Mom says it’s best not to wear too clothes that are too bright in colour or with loud patterns as it is distracting against the key subject: US. DOGS. Hello?”
